The Crusaders who Survive Rape

Rape is an abominable crime... unfortunately our society hardly treats a rape victim with sympathy. Nobody ever asks an accused about his whereabouts or clothing at that instant but the poor girl goes through series of scrutinies. The trauma lasts for ever..the victim as well as her family suffers apathy. just being curious checked the internet about celebrities who were raped/abused/humiliated at a point of time but they have successfully overcome the trauma and became maestros...  the list topper is

Yess Oprah Winfrey.... she admitted that she was raped by a relative at the age of mere 9....

She grabbed the limelight with Bad Boys II, Gabrielle Union was raped at the age of 19, she was a sales girl at a shoe store,

Teri Hatcher- hats off to her. at the age of just five she was raped by her uncle -- in 2002 she testified against him and he was sentenced to 14 yrs imprisonment.

There are many others but I like to end with this amazing lady..Fran Drescher. She is an American film and television actress, comedian, producer, and a Cancer Survivor. In January 1985, two armed robbers broke into Drescher and her husband Peter Jacobson's Los Angeles apartment. They ransacked their home, Drescher and her friend were raped at gunpoint. Jacobson was also physically attacked, tied up, and forced to witness the entire ordeal. As per her statement, it took Drescher many years to recover, and it took her even longer to tell her story to the press. She was paraphrased as saying in an interview with Larry King that although it was a traumatic experience, she found ways to turn it into something positive. In her book Cancer Schmancer, the actress writes: "My whole life has been about changing negatives into positives." Her rapist, who was on parole at the time of the crime, was returned to prison and given two life sentences.

Hats off to you lady...... you are a nothing but a crusader.
